Island Resort Fiji
BULA! You won't
find a newspaper at this isolated, intimate resort, or shoes, for that
matter, when you sit down to a meal. (Most everyone goes barefoot.) But
why would you bother with either when you're staying in a beachfront
villa and dining at a table beneath the stars? Privacy is the most
celebrated luxury here—the property hosts just 19 lucky couples—but
if the need to socialize hits, head to the communal dinner table. Over
barbecued mahimahi and roast rack of lamb, you'll ponder important
issues that aren't in the International Herald Tribune
anyway—like the daily snorkeling conditions, the wine you plucked from
the help-yourself cellar, and how soon you should plan a return trip.
Doubles from $5,400, for four nights, the minimum stay.
Just six hours' flying time south-west of Hawaii or
four hours north-east of Sydney, Australia. Vatulele is 25 minutes by
seaplane from Nadi International Airport.
Fiji Named One of Top Six Honeymoon Resort Destinations
The Fiji Islands was named as one of the top fantasy honeymoon
destinations in New York-based Modern Bride Magazine’s January,
issue. The article written by veteran travel writer Joe Yogerst, who
visited Fiji several years ago, shares with readers that “Fiji offers
plenty of room to drop in, chill out, make love, all the components to
fulfill the “We’re finally alone! fantasy.”
Vatulele was created by Emmy award winning Australian Television
miniseries producer, Henry Crawford. His concept was to create a
fantasy escape from the Western world. The Resort set on a remote
tropical island and is popular with show business personalities. Also
as a wedding and honeymoon destination.
The resort, which accommodates just 18 couples opened in 1990 and has
won many awards. Most recently it was named Fiji’s top resort in the
2004 annual Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
(pronounced ‘Vah-too-lay-lay’), is located on a spectacular
island in the Fiji group.
The resort is 'all inclusive' and accommodates just 19 couples
who are pampered by 110 staff.
In keeping with the owner's philosophy, there are no TV's,
newspapers, telephones, money transactions or shoes.
Vatulele is generally acknowledged as one of the most
outstanding 'bare-foot' resorts in the world.
Crawford’s ‘theatrical’ background is key to many of the things you
experience at Vatulele.
Weddings are no exception.
Vatulele Resort Weddings
A Fijian wedding is based on English Law and therefore is legally
binding and recognized worldwide. The resort strictly limits the
number of weddings performed, therefore, early booking is recommended
to avoid disappointment.

The wedding service
is usually held towards the end of the celebrants stay,
however, the exact date itself is subject to the
availability of the Minister and weather conditions.
Requests for particular dates however will be taken into
account and met, where possible. The resort is unlikely
to be able to conduct a weekend wedding, due to other
commitments for the choir and minister. A minimum stay
of six nights is required for the celebrants.

addition to Vatulele was conceived by Henry Crawford (who also created THE
POINT) and opened in mid July 2004.
The most remote of the bures, this mini-palace is noted for its extreme
privacy, and architectural detailing. Vale Viqi gives you 182 square

guests seeking privacy.
